It's only a month away until Christmas...how exciting is that! On Sunday, Jonny and I decided to go to the Christmas light switch on in town and explore the festivities on offer. The usual walk through town took a lot longer as we made our way through the hundreds of people who were enjoying the Christmas celebrations. Joyful little giggles of excitement could be heard from children as they waited in the queue to visit Santa and children and adults alike observed the beautiful reindeer with adoration nearby. Many weird and wonderful characters could be seen throughout the event including two icicle creatures on stilts, a cute little minion and Olaf (my favourite of course).
Before doing a little bit of window shopping to gather Christmas present ideas, we had a wander around the Christmas markets. Each twinkling Christmas grotto-like hut was filled with unique gifts, sweets, Christmas jumpers and continental food; something for everyone to enjoy. The smell of the delicious food tempted us into having an early dinner and after deliberating where to go, we opted for German sausage as it looked and smelled incredible! After our bellies were filled we had a Christmas drink from Starbucks to warm us up whilst we headed to the main stage where the lights were being switched on. Loud music blared from the likes of Collabro and last year's X factor winner Sam Bailey before the lights were switched on lighting up the city with an array of colour and majesticness. To end off a lovely evening, we ate lots of sweets whilst watching Elf, our
1st 2nd Christmas film of the year.
Are you excited for Christmas?
